Investing in smart businesses and the people behind them. Simple Partners invests in companies with earnings between 750k and 5m/yr.

Hi. We are Simple Partners.

Not capital allocators, venture capitalists or private equity. Partners. Simple Partners works with owners to form a plan for what's next for their business. This may involve buying the company or forming a new relationship with some or all of the existing ownership staying involved.

We're a good long-term owner for your business because we have no intention of selling. This means less disruption for your team, and long-term thinking for the business.

Own a company? We might be a good fit for you.

I want to unlock some or all of the value I have created with the business, but also want it to see it land in good hands.

I’m looking to partner with owners that could help me take my business to the next level.

I’m looking to transition, but my company doesn't fit the normal private equity or VC criteria.

I’ve bootstrapped the business to a point but am looking to plan for the next step.

Areas of Interest

We call them Areas of Interest because they're just that. Not criteria, not a "must-have list" these are things that we find interesting.

Home service and home repair businesses in Western Canada
Residential and commercial construction/services
Niche, industry-specific business software

Doesn't fall neatly into this list? Send it to us anyway . Know a business that might be a good fit? Introduce us via email .

Why we’re different. It’s Simple.

It's in the name for a reason. We keep deal structures simple and communication clear. No wasted time, no opaque dealings or over-the-top due diligence. We don’t have institutional investors (who would be looking for their capital to be returned). We buy businesses with the intention of owning them forever and get under the hood with management to provide support and help where it is needed.

Change doesn’t mean losing what works. We believe in modernizing without meddling — introducing automation and improved tooling only where it adds clarity and value. Our experience lies in implementing systems that support people, not replace them. The goal is to protect the character and craftsmanship that built the business while giving teams sharper tools to grow and operate confidently for decades to come.

What you probably want to know.

Is this a fund? Do you have a portfolio? We are buying one or two businesses in the next year. Not ten, not twenty. We believe that giving the company, its employees, and its customers our undivided focus is best for all partners.

WILL YOU INVEST IN STARTUPS? We’re interested in stable, durable businesses. While we believe growth is a good thing, we’re looking for businesses that have stood the test of time because we intend to own them for the long term.

Who we are

We are small-business owner/operators. We've learned a lot about what it takes to build, grow and support companies of different sizes and across industries. Our acquisition of Versett (Versett.com) allowed us to spend years honing the skills to deploy new technologies in traditional businesses to increase the durability of our portfolio businesses. We plan to acquire a small number of businesses that we believe fit our capabilities, and to own them forever.
